Our Keep Pompey green campaign, celebrated its first exhibition last week at the Le Cafe Parisien, hosted by Keep Milton Green, Aspex Gallery, the Green party, and Southsea Green, and was attended by The Lord Mayor, MP's and councillors who picked their favourite twenty artworks to go onto an exhibition at Lakeside 1000 in the new year.
Was lovely to be joined by people who care for our parks and city spaces, and local artists of all ages who had submitted stunning art-works celebrating our green spaces, and in different media; textiles, photographs, drawings and paintings. It was a truly inter-generational representation of people from our city. It was fantastic to see green being celebrated from across the city and to view these spaces through other people's eyes.
If you are free this Saturday, why not wrap up warm and come down to Southsea Green community garden at Canoe lake between 11 and 1pm where we will be transplanting trees from the orchard making it a fitting end to a truly green week. I'm dreaming of a green Christmas.
