I should be working in our Community garden this week but our enthusiastic “garden angels” from Creative Advances have been in as usual with Faye to help water, weed, dig and hoe. They are a wonderful bunch.
Unfortunately, I have developed a “wonky knee” from delivering hundreds of leaflets advertising the Table Top Sales we will be holding at Eastney Community Centre on the last Friday of every month through until May.
The wonky knee hasn’t however stopped me from getting ready for what I hope will be another bumper crop of raspberries this summer – the favourite part of my garden at home. So, confined to home, I’ve spent a few hours creating card labels for the raspberry cordial I shall be making (delicious on Eton mess or in fizzy white wine), cutting out rounds of pretty material and printing my own sticky labels for the jam and jelly I’m looking forward to. The personalised labels make a lovely present for friends who enjoy jam-making.
Roll on summer and scones and cream and raspberry jam.
